We are all lovers of fine things. Fine wine is no exception: it has been said that fine wine makes every meal an occassion, every table more elegant, and every day more civilised.

With this in mind, welcome to our website. We are Kingsmill Wines of Bannockburn, Central Otago. We pride ourselves on an ability to produce limited numbers of award winning, handcrafted, premium Pinot Noir and Riesling from the world renowned Central Otago wine producing region of New Zealand. Our boutique vineyard is nestled on a small terrace surrounded by snowcapped peaks, perched above the historic goldfields that forged the history of Central Otago. Our vineyard has an intensive hand management focus on producing unique, single vineyard, super premium, award winning wines that we are proud to put our name to.

2008 Pinot Noir

We have released our 08 Pinot Noir which has received good reviews to date - 90 points from Wine Judge Sam Kim who says

"It's warm and generous with a complex, perfumed nose displaying red/black cherry, cedar, spice and savoury mushroom characters.  The palate is elegant and well fruited with silky texture and a lingering juicy finish.  At its best now till 2013".  November 2010.

We are committed to producing only hand crafted, premium wines and are excited to be able to share our wines with you. The Gold Medal winning 07 Tippets Dam Pinot Noir has now completely sold out and we have no more of this vintage left. However we are now releasing a limited quantity of our library stock of the 2006 Pinot Noir for sale. This is a great incentive to join the club by clicking here .  The Kingsmill 'Cellar Club'

With a number of members placing standing orders for each vintage we have established a new 'category' to reward those members who purchase on a regular basis and collect each vintage.

Club members domiciled in New Zealand have the option of joining the 'Cellar Club' and receiving a regular quarterly shipment of 6 or 12 bottles of wine with the added bonus of free wine and free delivery.

Finalist in WineState 'Wine of the Year'

All the 5 Star wines in WineState were entered in a 'taste off' to find the top wines in each category.  Our Tippet's Dam 2007 Pinot Noir was one of the 5 finalists in this category.  The wine was featured in the WineState Special Edition in December.  

Tri-Nations Wine Challenge!

Kingsmill's Tippet's Dam Pinot Noir 2007 was awarded a gold medal at the 2009 Tri-Nations Wine Challenge in Sydney.

This exclusive competition is a rarity because entries are by invitation.  Only the best Australian, New Zealand and South African wines - as selected by each of the three judges to represent their country - go into the competition in August.  Seven Pinot Noir's from each country were invited. so being considered amongst the best 7 Pinot's in New Zealand was a privilege in itself.  While we did not win the Trophy - the 'gold' puts Kingsmill in the very top echelon of Pinots from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Our Tippet's Dam Pinot Noir 2007 vintage has continued its sucessful run with a a Gold Medal at the prestigious Tri-Nations Wine Challenge in Sydney following on from the Gold Medal at the Royal Easter Show. Both these pinots have been rated 5 Stars by Master of Wine Bob Campbell (see Awards ). Tippet's Dam Pinot Noir 2006, won one of only seven Gold Medals awarded in the highly competitive Pinot Noir class at the very prestigious 2007 Bragato Wine Awards.  We are very excited that with hard work and commitment we continue to produce consistent wines each vintage that we are exceedingly proud of.  We encourage you to learn more about our Pinot Noirs and Rieslings by visiting the Our Wine section of the website, where you will find comprehensive tasting notes and thoughts from the winemakers,  about the handcrafted journey our wine takes from vine to bottle.
